‘Keep Crying, No Child of God Lies’: EeZeeTee Fires Back at Mercy Chinwo

The Chief Executive Officer of EeZee Conceptz, Ezekiel Onyedikachi, fondly called a EeZeeTee, has fiercely countered allegations made by gospel music star Mercy Chinwo, calling them a deliberate attempt to destroy his record label with “lies and emotional blackmail.”

According to him, “no real child of God destroys another with lies.”

Recall that the mother of one , in a video shared across multiple media platforms on the 28th of January, 2025, accused EeZeeTee of threatening her career and subjecting her to servitude while she was under his label.

However, EeZeeTee, in his response, expressed disappointment that someone who identifies as a gospel artist would go to such lengths to damage another person’s reputation.

A Deliberate Attempt to Tarnish My Image

“It’s heartbreaking that you can go to this extent to tarnish the credibility or image of someone,” EeZeeTee lamented. “You had promised that you would destroy my reputation and the organization. Well done. When you’re done achieving it, I hope you get a crown in heaven.”

He questioned the logic behind the accusations, emphasizing that his label would never sabotage its own investment.

“How would we sabotage our investment? We need to be a little more intelligent with the narratives we’re presenting. In the desperation to damage someone’s reputation, we must not put ourselves in a critical light.”

Challenging the spirit behind the allegations, he posed a question: “Are we going to carry strife, bitterness, and resentment in our hearts while pretending to serve the kingdom?”

Reconciliation Is Not Weakness

Addressing claims that he sought to destroy Chinwo’s career, EeZeeTee dismissed them as baseless, asserting that he never claimed to have made her but simply provided a platform for her to shine.

“I was privileged to have housed the platform where you found expression, and this cannot be discredited,” he stated.

He warned against hypocrisy in ministry, asking, “What is the profit or crown given to a child of God who sees another go down? It is not something to be proud of.”

EeZeeTee also accused Chinwo of being manipulative.

“There is a consistency of lies and pretense. What do you expect of someone who can perfectly imitate the voice of a child and it sounds so real? She’s a fantastic actress. Keep acting, keep crying.”

A Battle Scripted Against Me

Opening up about the long-standing financial disputes between them, EeZeeTee revealed that he had made several attempts to resolve issues amicably but was met with resistance.

“For more than two years, there have been challenges behind the scenes. I had not seen the need to discredit any of my artists. It doesn’t make sense to put down your own product,” he said.

He disclosed that he even sought intervention from prominent clerics, including Apostle Eugene Ogwu, Bishop Humphrey Erumaka, and Bishop Mike Okonkwo, but his efforts were misinterpreted.

“The Bible says we should follow peace with all men. But every time I tried to resolve things peacefully, it was seen as a weakness.”

His frustration peaked when he was allegedly told, “Stop bothering about the body of Christ. We will deal with you, and the body of Christ will be okay.” At that moment, he realized, “This was a scripted, orchestrated conspiracy and witch-hunt.”

“The Courtroom Battle”

Denying claims that he was the first to take legal action, EeZeeTee revealed a shocking twist: “Around March, all my accounts were frozen. I couldn’t trace where it was coming from until I got confidential information that it was a planned attack. They didn’t want the public to know.”

According to him, he was detained for nine days in Ilorin far from Lagos due to allegations linked to the same music catalogue Chinwo now dismisses as irrelevant.

“Why Ilorin? That’s a completely different state out of the place of competent jurisdiction. And then I was detained for nine days. Why? Because I needed to write a statement the way they wanted me to.”

Despite his ordeal, EeZeeTee said he chose silence.

“When I came out of detention, I didn’t go public. I didn’t want to create an impression against someone who sings about Jesus.”

I Am Open to a Financial Audit

Refuting allegations that he refused an audit of his business dealings with Chinwo, EeZeeTee insisted he had nothing to hide.

“I have never been opposed to a financial audit. Never. All I have said is, let’s have a neutral, unbiased entity conduct it. I want this audit to happen because that’s the only way I would be vindicated.”

He further challenged Chinwo: “If you claim I have committed financial fraud, can you tell the public that you’re willing to subject your accounts to an independent audit? We are willing to bring out our books. Obligation is obligation—whoever is owing will balance up.”

A Character Assassination Attempt

On allegations that he bullied Chinwo, EeZeeTee dismissed them outright.

“Anyone who knows this person will know that you cannot bully a bully. You can find out from those who work closely with her.”

As for claims that he fueled rumors surrounding the paternity of Chinwo’s child, EeZeeTee said: “It beats my imagination that in all of this, a sensitive issue like a paternity saga is being weaponized against me. I hope you have enough evidence to back this false claim, because it is totally disappointing.”

Building Without Destroying

Concluding his statement, EeZeeTee reaffirmed that he has no problem with artists launching their own labels but condemned the need to destroy someone else in the process.

“We have thousands of talents in the Christian space. But you need not put one down for yours to go up.”

As the controversy unfolds, the Nigerian gospel music industry watches closely, torn between two influential figures who once worked in harmony but are now locked in a bitter dispute.
