Obama Leads Tributes to Rob Reiner, Michele Singer Following Tragic Deaths

Former U.S. President Barack Obama expressed deep sorrow following the deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, who were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Via a post on his official X account on Monday, December 15, Obama said he and his wife, Michelle, were “heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele.”

He praised Reiner’s contributions to film and television, describing his work as giving audiences “some of our most cherished stories on screen.”

Obama also highlighted the couple’s shared commitment to values such as truth, justice, and the goodness of people.

He added that both Rob and Michele inspired countless individuals through their creativity, philanthropy, and civic engagement.

The Reiners’ sudden deaths prompted an outpouring of grief from colleagues and leaders in entertainment and politics.
