President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, on his birthday, describing him as a “Renaissance governor” who has brought positive change to the state.
Tinubu’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and shared on X on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
The President commended Lawal for his administration’s focus on infrastructure, urban renewal and industrialisation, noting that his efforts had contributed to the development of Zamfara State.
Tinubu particularly highlighted the governor’s interventions in the education and health sectors.
According to the President, Lawal’s administration has rehabilitated more than 800 schools and recruited over 2,000 teachers, while also upgrading hospitals and providing medical supplies across the state.
The President described the governor’s multi-sectoral approach to governance as a step towards achieving holistic development, particularly through investments in human capital.

“President Tinubu particularly acknowledges Governor Lawal’s infrastructure and urban renewal drive, as well as his industrialisation effort in the state,” the statement said.
Tinubu, who is a strong advocate of broad-based development, said Lawal’s approach to governance was aligned with the need to improve both physical infrastructure and the welfare of citizens.
The President joined Lawal’s family, friends and the people of Zamfara State in celebrating his birthday, while wishing him good health and renewed strength as he continues to serve the state and the country.
