Troops neutralise Boko Haram fighters in Borno

Several Boko Haram fighters were on Sunday neutralised by the troops of the Nigerian military.

FirstNews gathered that the terrorists were killed after the military carried out a bombardment on their hideout in the Gubio axis of the state.

This came after some terrorists had earlier on Saturday laid an ambush on some military men along Gubio/Damasak highway at Kareto in the northern part of Borno.

They caught the motorcade by surprise and opened fire from different spots but the troops while repelling the attack recorded some casualties.

The military was said to have on Sunday bombarded the terrorist hideout and according to a source, over a dozen of the terrorists were killed by the military’s sir strike while several arms were recovered.
