A senior citizen of Ijaw extraction, High Chief Tom Jeremiah, has described efforts by “some disgruntled” politicians in Bayelsa State to undermine Senator Seriake Dickson as a journey in futility.
The retired Naval officer, who spoke with journalists at his Satellite Town, Lagos residence, said what is expected of the political leaders in Bayelsa is to join forces with Senator Dickson to continue with his good efforts at the promotion of activities that will continue to place the Ijaw positively among the comity of nations, instead of the unnecessary drama because of 2027 ambition.
He wondered what those promoting lies against Dickson stand to gain, saying any attempt at reducing the senator’s encouraging efforts of a better Ijaw race should be resisted among all ijaw people globally.
He said, “This is a failed journey as the ijaws are wiser. We know this is all about 2027 and repositioning to whitle Senator Dickson’s towering influence.
“In their avowed commitments at not seeing anything good about this sincere voice of Ijaw nation, these same people that fought Governor Diri up to Supreme Court should support the governor, if they so love him, to deliver the dividends of democracy as promised and leave Senator Dickson alone.”
