Ondo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission was on Thursday gutted by fire.
This incident occurred barely a month to the governorship election in the state.
The inferno, it was gathered, destroyed some items in a section of the office, including some smart card readers meant for the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
The cause of the inferno was unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Security operatives have already cordoned off the INEC office premises.
State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Rufus Akeju, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
His phone was switched off.
