In the midst of ongoing controversy surrounding the Kano Emirate tussle, Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano, has made his inaugural appointment since his reinstatement last week.
Sanusi, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), approved the appointment of Hamisu Sani as the new Ward Head of Kofar Mazugal in Dala Local Government Area of the state.
In his directive to the newly appointed ward head, the Emir emphasized the importance of fostering peaceful coexistence among the residents of the area and urged him to contribute to the overall development of the state.
Prior to this appointment, Emir Sanusi received homage from various district heads and delegations representing religious and market bodies at the palace.
Notable among these were delegations from the Ansarulddeen Tijjanniya sect, traders from the renowned Kantin Kwari textile market, and representatives from the commodities market, among others.
The reinstatement of Emir Sanusi II came after the Kano State House of Assembly, along with Governor Abba Yusuf, repealed and assented to the Kano State Emirates Councils (Repeal) Bill 2024 into law.
