The Nigeria Police Force has again arrested popular social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, fondly called Verydarkman.
He was reportedly arrested on the orders of the Police Commissioner of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Igwe.
On the 30th of June, 2024, the activist’s lawyer Deji Adeyanju stated that Verydarkman was arrested for allegedly exposing a Nigerian who reportedly defrauded someone abroad.
According to the lawyer, the contentious influencer was arrested on charges of defamation.
“Our client, @thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.
“Instead of the police to arrest the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on allegation of defamation,” he said.
VeryDarkMan has been arrested no fewer than three times in recent times over one alleged offence or the other.
