Concerned Rivers Citizens urge judiciary to resist compromise by desperate politicians

In a strong statement released on Tuesday, the Concerned Rivers Citizens (CRC) have called on the judiciary to remain steadfast and resist any attempts at compromise by desperate politicians in the state.

The CRC, a group of indigenes from Rivers State, expressed their concern over findings that indicated a concerted effort by former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to secure favorable judgments through undue influence.

The statement, signed by Jackson Thomas, President of CRC, and Kelvin Eguono, Secretary-General, urged these politicians to abandon their underhanded tactics and instead pursue justice and truth.

The CRC denounced a faction of individuals who, while claiming to be members of the CRC, were in fact loyalists of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

These impostors, the statement revealed, have been expelled from the CRC for engaging in “selfish and malicious activities.”

“We are shocked that these individuals would go to the extent of blackmailing in an attempt to please their paymasters while ignoring the real issues on the ground,” the statement read.

“We want to make it clear that we are not part of their scheme and do not support their actions.”

Emphasizing their non-partisan stance, the CRC reaffirmed their commitment to supporting good governance under the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“We are committed to promoting the truth and the rule of law in Rivers State, and we will not be swayed by personal interests or political affiliations,” the statement added.

The CRC also issued a stern warning to those misusing its name to spread falsehoods and propaganda, threatening legal action if such activities continue.

“We will not allow these individuals to tarnish our reputation and undermine our work. We will continue to stand for the truth and fight for the rule of law in Rivers State,” the CRC declared.

In their concluding remarks, the CRC called on all politicians to respect the judiciary and to work towards justice and accountability in Rivers State, emphasizing the importance of integrity and transparency in governance.
