Popular American rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar Cephus, better known as Cardi B, has been sued for alleged copyright infringement by two singers from Texas and Oklahoma.
The duo claimed that she used their song in her track “Enough (Miami)” without permission.
The lawsuit, as reported by TMZ, was filed by Miguel Aguilar (Kemika 1956) and Joshua Fraustro (Sten Joddi). They allege that Cardi B and her producers incorporated elements of their 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” into “Enough (Miami).”
The plaintiffs also noted that their song was featured in promotional material for the FX series “Reservation Dogs.”
In addition to Cardi B, the lawsuit names Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group, and producers OG Parker and DJ SwanQo as co-defendants.
“Enough (Miami)” was released on March 15, 2024, approximately three years after “Greasy Frybread.”
