PDP chieftain criticizes APC’s tactics in Edo governorship poll

A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Nosa Osasuyi, has harshly criticized the All Progressive Congress (APC) for allegedly using deceitful tactics to mask their lack of competence and inability to win the upcoming governorship election.

Osasuyi made these comments while addressing journalists in Abuja over the weekend.

Osasuyi accused the APC of resorting to fabrications and misrepresentations because they are aware of their slim chances of winning the election in a fair and transparent manner.

He argued, “The facts stare at them frontally, hence their decision to hide behind a finger by twisting the judgment of the Federal High Court.”

He described the APC’s misrepresentation of a recent court ruling regarding the PDP gubernatorial primary election as “cheap blackmail” aimed at misleading voters in Edo State.

Osasuyi advised the APC to accept their impending defeat, claiming their candidate lacks the necessary capabilities to govern the state.

He continued, “Instead of concentrating on a meaningful campaign, they are twisting court judgments and turning them upside down. Edo voters are more knowledgeable than the APC thinks, and their defeat is so pronounced even before the election.”

Osasuyi called for disciplinary action against the plaintiff’s lawyer in the case, Adaze Emwanta, accusing him of deliberately misleading the public and engaging in falsehood.

“I ask that Emwanta should be disciplined for falsehood,” he stated.

“It is worth noting that the Federal High Court had ruled that the exclusion of some ward delegates was contrary to the party’s constitution. However, this ruling did not affect the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Edo State”, Asue Ighodalo added.
