On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
According to presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, Walson-Jack’s appointment will take effect on August 14, 2024.
“Mrs. Walson-Jack was appointed Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has served in several Ministries,” Ngelale stated.
Walson-Jack will succeed Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, the current Head of the Civil Service, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024.
In his statement, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to Dr. Yemi-Esan for her dedicated service and emphasized the importance of integrity and adherence to civil service regulations in Walson-Jack’s upcoming tenure.
“The new appointee is expected to bring innovative flair to the role while maintaining the highest standards of integrity,” the President remarked.
Walson-Jack’s extensive experience within various ministries positions her as a capable leader to navigate the complexities of the civil service and continue the work of her predecessor.
