In a recent statement, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hinted at the possibility of signing a new contract with the club.
Despite previous comments suggesting he might be closer to leaving, Guardiola clarified his stance, saying, “I have said I am closer to leaving Man City… but I did NOT say I’m leaving Man City!”
Guardiola emphasized that he is not ruling out a contract extension, stating, “I’m NOT ruling out absolutely that I sign a new deal.”
He added that any decision would be made carefully, taking into consideration both his own and the players’ perspectives: “I want to be sure it’s the right decision not just for me but for the players, if they run no matter competition… that is what I have to see. But yes, I love being here.”
Expressing his affection for the club and his desire to stay, Guardiola also mentioned a specific future aspiration: “I’d love, love, love, love to be Man City manager at the World Cup for Clubs in 2025. I’d really love to stay!”
As speculation continues about his future, Guardiola’s comments provide a hopeful sign for Manchester City fans eager to see him remain at the helm.
