Residents of Kisi, Igboho and Igbeti in Oke Ogun axis of Oyo State, on Wednesday, took to the streets in celebration of the arrest of the suspected kidnappers, terrorising the area.
Chairmen of the three local government areas affected led the jubilant crowd from Folo village, badly hit by the kidnappers to Igbeti Area Police Command .
The mammoth crowd was surprised seeing the various AK 47 and other sophisticated weapons recovered from the arrested kidnappers, who have been terrorising the Igboho, Kisi and Igbeti axis of the Old Oyo Forest Reserve for a couple of days.
Addressing the crowd Tuesday night , Hon Adediran Abdul-lateef Santana, Chairman Irepo Local Government Area, on behalf of Hon Chief Ayantunde David Ayandeyi; Hon Adesola Yaqub TASOOLO, Chairman, Olorunsogo and Oorelope, respectively,, thanked almighty God for the success of the strategic combing of Old Oyo Forest Reserve by the security agents and local vigilance groups.
Special encomium was showered on Governor Seyi Makinde for providing enabling environment for the local government chairmen, which led to the success of the ‘operation storm the forest’ by the security agencies.
The Police Area Commander, DPO of the three councils, men of SARS Squad, Oyo State Operation Burst, MOPOL Squadron , local government vigilance groups, Miyetti Allah, Asakaye Vigilance Groups, Igbeti, Toro, Kisi Progressive Union, Egbe Omo Ifelodun Igboho, the leadership of NURTW and RTEAN in Olorunsogo, Oorelope and Irepo were all applauded for the significant roles they displayed during the onslaught.
