The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Anambra governorship election for November 8th, 2025.
INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu made the announcement during a meeting with political parties in Abuja on Thursday.
“By the effluxion of time, the governorship election is due next year. Consequently, the Commission has approved that the 2025 Anambra State Governorship election will hold on Saturday 8th November 2025,” Yakubu said.
He added that a formal notice of the election will be published on November 13th, 2024, with party primaries set for March 20th to April 10th, 2025.
“The candidate nomination portal will open at 9.00 am on 18th April 2025 and close at 6.00 pm on 12th May 2025,” Yakubu stated. Campaigns will begin on June 11th, 2025, and conclude on November 6th, 2025.
