Nigerian striker Victor Boniface was hospitalized with minor injuries on Saturday night after being involved in a car crash, just hours after scoring the winning goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Boniface, who had been the hero of the match, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
While shaken by the incident, the 23-year-old remains in stable condition and is under medical observation.
