Enrol more workers into ECS, Labour Minister charges NSITF

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, has tasked the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) with ramping up the enrollment of workers across all sectors into the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS). The Minister made this call during the NSITF 2022/2023 Service Awards held at Treasures Suites and Conferences, Abuja, over the weekend.

Represented by Ngozi Anukwu, Director II, Social Security Department of the Ministry, Dingyadi highlighted the importance of efficient resource management as critical to boosting productivity. He praised the NSITF for its role in enhancing the nation’s workforce and emphasized the significance of the Service Awards in fostering excellence and dedication among staff.

“This award ceremony comes at a time when President Tinubu’s administration is emphasizing effective resource utilization to maximize productivity. It underscores the value of outstanding service in achieving the Fund’s social security mandate through the Employees Compensation Scheme,” Dingyadi stated.

The Minister encouraged award recipients to use the recognition as motivation to further contribute to the progress of the Fund and national development.

In his remarks, NSITF Managing Director Oluwaseun Faleye commended the awardees for their exceptional contributions, reaffirming the Fund’s commitment to its core values of hard work, dedication, and excellence.

“This event is not just about celebration but also a reflection on what it means to truly excel. Exceptional performance goes beyond meeting targets—it’s about overcoming challenges and embracing teamwork. Your dedication and resilience have driven our continued success,” Faleye said.

Faleye outlined his administration’s strategic objectives, anchored on five pillars aimed at re-engineering the Fund and expanding its reach in providing social safety nets. He emphasized that the achievements being celebrated were products of collective effort, highlighting teamwork as a cornerstone of the organization’s culture of success.

“While we honor outstanding individuals, let us remember that these achievements are a result of collaboration and mutual support. Together, we are building a legacy of excellence that will inspire future generations within our organization,” he added.

Honoring Dedication

The ceremony recognized staff members who have shown exemplary dedication, including Lateef Musa, General Manager for Compliance; Ndakoji Musa, an Assistant General Manager; and Chinenye Okoroafor, an Assistant Manager at the Lekki Branch in Lagos.

Faleye urged all awardees to remain shining examples of excellence and dedication, ensuring seamless service delivery to the Fund’s stakeholders.
