The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Gombe State has marked a significant milestone as 1,268 Batch A, Stream I corps members have successfully completed their one-year mandatory service, while 21 others face remobilization due to various infractions.
Speaking at a modest yet meaningful passing-out ceremony held at the NYSC zonal office on the 23rd of January, 2025, the Gombe State Coordinator, Chinwe Nwachukwu, shared the details.
“1,268 Batch A Stream I Corps members are passing out; those with disciplinary cases are 16 and 21 for remobilisation,” Nwachukwu revealed.
She commended the outgoing corps members for their unwavering dedication to nation-building and their service to humanity.
“My dear compatriots of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I service year, I heartily salute you for the successful completion of your sojourn in Gombe State for the one-year mandatory national service to the nation and humanity at large,” she said with pride.
Nwachukwu highlighted the corps members’ notable contributions to the socio-economic growth of their host communities in crucial sectors like education, health, and agriculture, describing them as “ambassadors of the Scheme in unity, peace, and progress.”
Encouraging the graduates to harness the skills and knowledge gained during their service year, Nwachukwu emphasized the importance of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme.
“Whether you decide to further your education, pursue a career, or start your own business, I am confident that you will make a difference in your respective fields,” she stated.
The ceremony was a testament to the commitment of these young Nigerians to their nation, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another filled with promise and opportunity.
