Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly preparing a €75 million bid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, who is expected to leave the club next summer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who was instrumental in bringing Osimhen to Napoli in 2020, has identified the Super Eagles star as his primary target to spearhead the Bianconeri’s attack.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in red-hot form, netting 17 goals and providing six assists in 21 appearances for the Turkish giants.
His performances have reignited interest from top European clubs, with Juventus now leading the chase for his signature.
However, a move to Turin faces obstacles. Osimhen’s reported €75 million release clause applies only to clubs outside Italy, meaning Juventus would have to negotiate directly with Napoli—something historically difficult, given the intense rivalry between the two clubs.
Juventus’ bid for Osimhen is expected to be financed by the sale of Dusan Vlahovic, whose agents recently halted contract extension talks due to the club’s refusal to meet his wage demands.
Vlahovic’s current deal runs until 2026, but Juventus are eager to cash in on the Serbian striker in the next six months rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.
The funds generated from his sale would play a crucial role in securing Osimhen’s services.
Despite his past heroics, Osimhen’s future at Napoli remains uncertain. Having played a pivotal role in their first Scudetto triumph in 33 years, he has since been linked with a move away from the club.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has a reputation for driving hard negotiations, making any deal with Juventus a complex affair.
Giuntoli, who worked closely with Osimhen during Napoli’s title-winning season, could use their past relationship to sway the Nigerian striker toward a move to Turin.
If their pursuit of Osimhen falls through, Juventus could extend the loan of Randal Kolo Muani, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain.
However, a permanent transfer for the French forward appears unlikely given PSG’s high valuation.
Juventus’ ability to sign Osimhen will largely depend on their qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The additional revenue from European competition would provide the financial flexibility needed to execute such a high-profile signing.
