Scholz Rejects Trump’s Gaza Plan: No Room for Debate

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has firmly rejected United States President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to resettle Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, calling for de-escalation in the Middle East.

Speaking at a campaign event in Ludwigsburg, a city in southwestern Germany, Scholz made his stance unmistakably clear.

“We must not resettle the population of Gaza to Egypt,” he declared, emphasizing the urgent need for peaceful coexistence between a future Palestinian state and Israel.

Trump’s proposal, which surfaced after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week, sent shockwaves across the globe.

The U.S. president outlined an audacious plan his administration would take over Gaza and transform it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

However, this vision came with a controversial condition removing Palestinian inhabitants from Gaza and relocating them to other Arab states.

The reaction was swift and fierce. Arab nations expressed outrage, while critics worldwide condemned the idea as reckless and inhumane.

In response to mounting criticism, some U.S. officials scrambled to clarify Trump’s remarks. Yet, undeterred, the president doubled down in a post on his Truth Social platform, insisting that Palestinians would have the opportunity to be “happy, safe, and free elsewhere.”

Trump also painted a grand vision for Gaza’s future, pledging that the U.S. would collaborate with top development teams to create “one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth.”

However, with global opposition mounting and world leaders like Scholz outright rejecting the plan, Trump’s vision faces a steep uphill battle.
