Saudi Arabia has implemented new visa restrictions for travelers from 14 countries, issuing single-entry visas only, valid for 30 days with no extensions allowed.
This applies to tourists, business visitors, and those traveling to see family, but it does not affect those applying for Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas.
The countries affected by the new rule include Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.
Authorities have explained that the new measure is in response to the abuse of multiple-entry visas, with some travelers overstaying their visas or using them to attend Hajj without proper authorization.
Saudi Arabia strictly controls the number of pilgrims from each country who can attend Hajj, and the influx of unauthorized pilgrims has led to overcrowding.
In 2024, over 1,200 pilgrims tragically died from heat and congestion, which officials believe was worsened by the presence of unregistered attendees.

The suspension of multiple-entry visas is considered a temporary measure, and no specific timeline has been given for its review. The government will monitor the situation before making any further decisions.
Travelers from the impacted countries are encouraged to apply for their single-entry visas well in advance and adhere strictly to the new regulations to avoid penalties or disruptions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged travelers to stay informed through official government channels.
