Jigawa Police Command Welcomes 448 New Constables, CP Warns Against Misconduct

The Jigawa State Police Command has received 448 newly graduated police constables who completed six months of intensive training at the Police College, Kaduna.

Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdullahi, while welcoming the recruits, issued a stern warning on discipline and professionalism.

His statement, released in Dutse on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, emphasized strict adherence to the Nigeria Police Act, federal laws, and ethical conduct.

Addressing the constables at the parade ground, CP Abdullahi urged them to uphold integrity, honesty, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.

“You must be disciplined and follow the rules and regulations guiding your conduct as police officers,” he stated.

The CP also cautioned the officers against engaging in corrupt practices and unnecessary financial commitments, advising them to avoid actions that could tarnish the image of the police force.

“You must be mindful of your actions and avoid any behaviour that can tarnish the image of the police force,” he warned.

The statement further disclosed that the new constables, including General Duty and Specialist officers, would undergo additional training on practical police duties, weapons handling, musketry, and combat operations.

This phase of training will be conducted by the Department of Operations and the Mobile Base, 35PMF Dutse, in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

CP Abdullahi reiterated the importance of professionalism and respect for citizens’ rights, encouraging the recruits to be dedicated to their responsibilities.

“You have a critical role to play in maintaining law and order in the state,” he noted.

He assured the public of the Command’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in policing Jigawa State.
