IGP Deploys Intelligence Team for Safe Rescue of Afenifere Youth Leader

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure the release of Afenifere Youth Leader, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, who was abducted on February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured the public of the police’s unwavering commitment to Ojajuni’s safe return, emphasizing that all necessary resources and intelligence were being deployed to facilitate his rescue.

“The IGP commends the swift action and dedication of officers involved in the operation. He has directed the Intelligence Response Team to prioritize the rescue of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, ensuring his safe return to his family,” Adejobi stated.

While reaffirming the police force’s determination to curb criminal activities, Adejobi cautioned the public against spreading unverified information on social media, warning that speculation could jeopardize ongoing rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, police operatives in Taraba State raided a suspected criminal hideout at Wamunchi dry-season rice farms on February 26, leading to the arrest of 20 suspects and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, live ammunition, and other weapons.

Similarly, security forces in Oyo State successfully rescued three kidnap victims abducted from the palace of Baale Tajudeen Inaolaji on February 24, following a coordinated response by tactical teams and local security outfits. One of the suspected kidnappers was also apprehended.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of citizens across the country.
