The Lagos State Police Command has reinstated the security details of Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojisola Meranda, following their earlier withdrawal.
Addressing the issue at a press briefing on Thursday, February 27, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, confirmed that the four security officers assigned to Meranda had been reinstated.
He explained that their withdrawal was part of an ongoing audit of police personnel and firearms, which is not limited to Lagos but is being conducted across other state commands as well.

The security personnel attached to Meranda’s office and residence were pulled on Thursday morning, sparking controversy.
This came just as the security aides of impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa were restored, after which he stormed the Assembly complex and declare himself Speaker.
Obasa later presided over a plenary session attended by only a few lawmakers.
