Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has sent a stern warning to politicians who exploit security challenges for political gain, urging them to desist from such reckless antics.
He condemned those who take pleasure in fueling insecurity to advance their political agendas, emphasizing that such actions put innocent lives at risk.
During a heartfelt address at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on the 2nd of March 2025, Governor Sani welcomed 58 kidnapped victims who were freed by security forces and handed over to the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
Expressing his commitment to safeguarding the people of Kaduna, he declared, “The merchants of insecurity will not be happy with the release of these innocent souls because they are benefiting from insecurity.”
Reaffirming his dedication to his mandate, he stated, “As an elected governor, I swore to protect the lives and property of the people of Kaduna State and have been doing my best to fulfill this obligation.”
He highlighted the success of the Kaduna Peace Model, a strategic non-kinetic approach that has transformed previously volatile areas like Birnin Gwari. Once considered a danger zone, the region has now regained stability, with bandits surrendering their weapons, long-abandoned markets reopening, and businesses thriving once again in Birnin Gwari and parts of Giwa Local Government.
Governor Sani assured the people of Kauru, Kajuru, and Kachia who still face sporadic bandit attacks, that security forces are actively working to restore lasting peace, promising that they would soon sleep soundly without fear.
According to him, the remarkable progress achieved through peaceful strategies has frustrated certain individuals who, rather than prioritizing the well-being of the masses, choose to spread propaganda and misinformation. “The success that the non-kinetic approach has yielded is a source of anger to some people who don’t have the welfare or well-being of their people at heart,” he lamented, noting that their dissatisfaction often plays out in social media rants.

While he remained indifferent to personal attacks from political opponents, Governor Sani made it clear that he would not tolerate the deliberate dissemination of lies or the politicization of insecurity. He stressed that genuine opposition should not come at the cost of public safety, warning that those engaged in such deceitful practices do not truly care about the masses but merely exploit social media to push their selfish interests.
Regarding the rescued victims, the governor revealed that they had received 11 days of psycho-social therapy and medical care under the Kaduna State Government, with one individual still undergoing treatment. To aid their recovery, his administration pledged financial support to help them rebuild their lives, whether through business or farming.
Grateful voices rose in appreciation of the government’s efforts. Pastor Danlami Mutane expressed heartfelt thanks for the care they received, while Malama Raliya Ibrahim extended her gratitude to Governor Sani and the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, for their unwavering support.
With a firm stance against insecurity and a commitment to rebuilding communities, Governor Uba Sani reaffirmed his resolve to prioritize the safety and well-being of Kaduna’s citizens above all else.
