PHOTOS: Fatal Trailer Crash in Anambra Leaves Several Feared Dead

Many people have been reported dead after a trailer with a 40-foot container lost control and crashed at a popular Idemili Junction in Anambra State.

The graphic video seen by First News on Wednesday shows the horrifying aftermath, with body parts of victims scattered around.

According to reports gathered, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when a speeding trailer with a 40-foot container lost control and crashed, trapping tricycles, a shuttle bus, and pedestrians underneath.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the trailer’s brakes failed, resulting in the tragic crash.

The videos showed ongoing rescue operations, with officers from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police working together to free trapped victims.

An eyewitness who was overheard in the video stated that he wanted to take the same bus but later changed his mind.

“I wanted to enter this shuttle bus but I entered the second one. I would have been dead now. God thank you for sparring my life.”

Another eyewitness said, “This junction has become a death zone. Every time an accident happens at this junction, it always claims so many lives.”

At the time of filing this report, the FRSC had yet to issue any statement regarding the tragic incident.

The exact number of fatalities and injuries remains unclear.
