2026 World Cup Final to Feature First-Ever Super Bowl-Style Half-Time Show

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey will break new ground by featuring the first-ever Super Bowl-style half-time show, FIFA president Gianni Infantino has announced.

Infantino, via his Instagram page on Wednesday, confirmed that the highly anticipated show will be curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Phil Harvey, who will oversee the selection of artists set to perform.

“This will be a historic moment for the FIFA World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,” Infantino stated.

The announcement came after a meeting of FIFA’s commercial and media partners in Dallas, as preparations intensify for the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

While further details on the artists and the duration of the performance are yet to be disclosed, the decision follows the precedent set at last year’s Copa America final in Miami, where Colombian singer Shakira delivered a captivating half-time performance.

Infantino also disclosed FIFA’s plans to stage a grand takeover of New York’s Times Square during the tournament’s final weekend.

The 2026 World Cup is set to be the biggest edition of the tournament yet, with 48 teams competing across the three North American nations.
