The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man identified as Oju, who allegedly stabbed his wife, Josephine Isaac, to death in Agbure Community, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.
The suspect reportedly attacked his 36-year-old wife with a knife, stabbing her multiple times in the neck and chest before fleeing the scene.
According to the victim’s younger sister, Blessing Isaac, the couple had a heated argument on March 6, 2025, which escalated into violence, leading to Josephine’s tragic death.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that the victim was rushed to Ibiade General Hospital, where doctors confirmed her dead.
Following the report, detectives were deployed to the crime scene, where potential evidence was recovered. The victim’s body has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy, while investigations continue to apprehend the suspect.

Odutola added that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further inquiries.
Condemning all forms of domestic violence, the police urged residents to seek peaceful conflict resolution instead of resorting to violence. The public was also encouraged to report cases of domestic abuse to the nearest police station or emergency hotlines for prompt intervention.
“The Command is actively pursuing the suspect, and we assure the public that justice will be served,” Odutola stated.
