NAICOM recently warned that insurance firms must settle all cases it resolves, saying the move aims to clean up the industry and curb the frequent excuses used to delay payments. The commission also emphasised that companies will bear the costs incurred during dispute resolution.

It further urged insurers to meet their obligations and settle outstanding claims promptly, stressing the need for ethical practices.

As part of its efforts to enhance efficiency, NAICOM launched a Complaint Management Portal, encouraging policyholders to use the platform for swift dispute resolution.
