U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the fugitive leader of ISIS, who was hiding in Iraq, has been killed during a military operation conducted by American forces.
According to Trump, the operation conducted in coordination with the Iraqi Government and the Kurdish Regional Government also resulted in the death of another ISIS member.
This announcement further emphasises the U.S. military’s commitment towards eradicating terrorism.

Trump made this known in a statement shared on his X handle on Saturday.
Trump’s statement read, “Today the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed. He was relentlessly hunted down by our intrepid warfighters. His miserable life was terminated, along with another member of ISIS, in coordination with the Iraqi government and the Kurdish Regional Government. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH!”
