Tinubu Orders Manhunt for Killers of Hunters in Edo State

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the brutal killing of hunters traveling through Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, after they were intercepted by local vigilantes.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on March 28, 2025, the President expressed shock over the dastardly act and directed security agencies, including the police, to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

President Tinubu commiserated with the families of the victims, assuring them that criminals will not be allowed to spill the blood of innocent Nigerians in vain. He reaffirmed that jungle justice has no place in Nigeria, emphasizing that every citizen has the right to move freely across the country without fear of unlawful attacks.

Commending Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and Uromi community leaders for their swift response in preventing further escalation, Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to upholding law and order while ensuring justice for victims of violence.

The President’s directive has put security agencies on high alert as they intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the gruesome killings.
