Mother of Slain Kaduna Student Demands Justice

The heartbreak still burns for the mother of 16-year-old Ahmed Musa, a student of Government Technical College, Malali. On the 16th of February, 2025, Ahmed was found murdered on school grounds, his hands and legs bound, a discovery that rocked Kaduna North with grief and anger.

Nearly two months later, his family says they are still stuck in limbo and losing faith.

On the 8th of April, 2025, his mother showed up at the Chief Magistrate Court in Kabala Doki with a clear message: enough is enough.

Surrounded by relatives and sympathisers, she called out the authorities, accusing them of dragging their feet and turning their backs.

“I want the public to know that no matter what, I, the mother of late Ahmed Musa, won’t rest until I get justice,” she said tearfully. “Looking at how the murder case is being handled, it’s as if the Kaduna State government and the Nigerian Police want to frustrate our pursuit of justice.”

Since the day Ahmed was found dead, his family says they have received no real support. No updates. No urgency. And no justice.
Frustrated and angry, she warned that they won’t sit quietly.

“We will organise a mass protest across the state. We have started contacting different women’s organisations. We will also proceed to Berekete, the Human Rights Radio, until justice is achieved,” she declared.

She’s also reaching out to organisations like Amnesty International, urging them to get involved before the case disappears into silence.

For now, the wait continues.
Justice Naheed Ibrahim Abdulhamid has again adjourned the trial; the next court date is set for May 27, 2025.
