Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has engaged in some lighthearted social media banter with his colleague Joeboy, following the latter’s unsuccessful N3 million wager on the recent Champions League quarterfinal match between Real Madrid and Arsenal.
Joeboy had publicly shared his betting slip hours before the crucial encounter, confidently backing Real Madrid for the win. The N3 million stake held the potential for a significant N10.3 million payout. Accompanying the slip, Joeboy optimistically posted, “Cashing out on Arsenal tears tonight!” signaling his strong belief in a Real Madrid victory.
However, the match concluded with a decisive 3-0 victory for Arsenal, rendering Joeboy’s bet unsuccessful and resulting in the loss of his N3 million stake.
Seizing the moment for some friendly teasing, Adekunle Gold reposted Joeboy’s original confident tweet.
He added a playful comment, joking about the lost sum: “Lmao. You don go blow stream money. Next time face your club”.

Arsenal’s commanding 3-0 win in the first leg places them in a favourable position heading into the return fixture. The second leg is scheduled to take place at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium next Wednesday.
Prior to that European clash, Arsenal is set to face Brentford in a Premier League match.
