IPOB Hails Kanu’s ‘Fulfilled Prophecies’ on Fulani Encroachment, Tinubu’s Rise

On the 11th of April, 2025, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) declared that the chilling prophecies of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, regarding the growing Fulani encroachment into Nigerian communities have indeed unfolded as he had predicted.

In 2014, Kanu boldly declared on Radio Biafra, “Fulani terrorists will take control of Nigeria, and the government will remain inactive.”

Fast forward to today, and these words ring alarmingly true as the country grapples with the surge of Fulani dominance across its regions.

Kanu’s foresight didn’t stop there; he also predicted in 2016 that Bola Tinubu would emerge as Nigeria’s next president after the administration of Muhammadu Buhari, an outcome that many dismissed at the time but has since come to pass.

Reacting to the fulfilment of these prophecies, IPOB portrayed Kanu not just as a leader but as a prophet who faced scorn and dismissal from those in power.

In a statement released by their spokesperson, Emma Powerful, IPOB emphasized that Kanu’s declarations on the Fulani invasion, along with his other prophecies, have all come to fruition.

They pointed out that, “a prophet receives no respect in his home,” a phrase that perfectly captures how Kanu’s wisdom was disregarded by the very society he sought to awaken.

The statement continued with a chilling reminder of Kanu’s 2014 warning, stating, “Fulani terrorists will take control of Nigeria, and the government will remain inactive,” a prediction now evident as Nigeria grapples with widespread insecurity and the unchecked rise of Fulani militants.

According to IPOB, this is not just a mere coincidence but the fulfillment of what Kanu saw coming long before the rest of the country.

Kanu’s warnings about the so-called Fulanisation agenda were also mentioned. These, IPOB argues, have received substantial backing under the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari and are now fully manifesting across Nigeria.

Then came Kanu’s 2016 forecast about Tinubu’s rise to power. At a time when such a prediction seemed far-fetched to many, it now stands as a testament to the clarity of Kanu’s insight.

IPOB reflected that Kanu’s ability to foresee these events underscores his prophetic status, and they described his critics as those who are now “witnessing Nigeria transition from the frying pan into the fire.”

Kanu, who has long maintained that Nigeria is beyond redemption, has consistently advocated for the dissolution of the country, which he believes was only ever held together by British colonial interests.

As IPOB points out, those who once dismissed Kanu’s cries are now watching in disbelief as the nation falls deeper into crisis, with the specter of Fulani terrorism spreading unchallenged.

One of Kanu’s most consistent warnings was the violent incursion of Fulani militants into Nigeria. IPOB reminded the public that since 2014, Kanu had urged Nigerians to brace themselves for the oncoming storm, yet many mocked him. Today, nearly every corner of the country is feeling the weight of that invasion, and there’s no sign of the military, DSS, or police intervening to protect citizens.

As IPOB observes, “Fulanis excel at trickery. When you succumb to their trickery, they will overpower, weaken, and suffocate you like constrictors.”

This tactic, IPOB claims, has played out throughout history, with the Hausa leaders falling victim to Fulani manipulation and land grabs, as seen in the creation of Kwara State.

Kwara, once part of Yoruba land, is now fully integrated into the Fulani Caliphate and categorized within Nigeria’s Middle Belt. This historical pattern of deceit and land theft is what IPOB warns is repeating itself today.

Fulani infiltration into the South-East has also been significant, and IPOB, along with other enlightened Igbos, continues to resist their influence.

Kanu’s efforts to expose these dangers, IPOB asserts, led to the Nigerian government’s deployment of deceptive policies under the guise of fostering development such as Ruga, waterways laws, and ranching. These were presented as benevolent initiatives but, in the eyes of IPOB, were merely tactical maneuvers by the Fulani to further entrench their hold on the country.

Currently, Kanu remains illegally detained, having been abducted and subjected to rendition nearly four years ago. In line with his past calls, IPOB insists that the only true solution to Nigeria’s woes and to the growing threat of Fulani terrorism is the renegotiation of the expired British amalgamation treaty.

As IPOB sees it, the dissolution of Nigeria into separate, independent nations is the only path forward.

IPOB maintains that Nigeria’s forced unity, crafted by British colonial interests in 1914, has proven disastrous for its diverse peoples. The various ethnic groups, each with their own unique culture, morality, and beliefs, have suffered under a system that disregards their differences.

The solution, IPOB argues, is to allow each indigenous group to establish its own independent nation, similar to how nations in Europe and elsewhere have evolved.

In the meantime, IPOB calls on all indigenous Nigerians to unite in defense of their homes and families. They warn that, without action, the Fulani will continue to seize control of land, businesses, and lives.

They also stress that the Nigerian Security Forces are not neutral, citing former Defense Chief Theophilus Danjuma’s statement and recent advice from the DSS director for Nigerians to protect themselves from terrorists.

IPOB concludes with a call for the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu and an apology from the Nigerian government to both him and the organization.

In a final plea, IPOB urges all Igbos to recognize the pivotal role Kanu and IPOB have played in defending their land and their future. As IPOB states, Kanu’s message is clear:

“The native communities in Nigeria need to prepare to expel Fulani from the country. The Fulani terrorist group should go back to their origins.”
