Despite his temporary stay in Europe, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly in control of Nigeria’s affairs, the Presidency has assured.
In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, it was confirmed that Tinubu, who recently moved from Paris to London, has continued to discharge his duties, maintaining regular communication with key government officials and directing national matters from abroad.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully engaged in Nigeria’s governance even though he is away in Europe,” Onanuga said in a post shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The statement clarified that the President’s absence is temporary and aligns with a previously communicated timeframe of approximately two weeks. It also affirmed that he would return to Abuja following the conclusion of the Easter holiday.
While away, President Tinubu has reportedly issued instructions to security chiefs to tackle emerging security threats in various parts of the country. The statement emphasizes that governance continues uninterrupted, with the President providing strategic leadership from his temporary base in London.

“The President’s commitment to his duties remains unwavering, and his administration continues to function effectively under his leadership,” Onanuga added.
The Presidency also acknowledged the public’s concern over Tinubu’s absence and offered reassurance that government activities remain on track.
Tinubu’s continued coordination of state affairs from abroad reflects a growing trend among global leaders who leverage technology to remain actively involved in governance even while traveling.
His return to Aso Villa is expected shortly after the Easter period.
