Plateau Bloodshed: Lawmaker Accuses Security of Complicity

Over 100 people have been murdered in Plateau State in the past two weeks. Daniel Asama, a member of the House of Representatives, is calling it what it is: genocidal.

The lawmaker, who represents Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, isn’t holding back. Appearing on The Morning Brief on Channels Television on Thursday, Asama revealed that security operatives already know who’s behind the killings and where to find them.

“The security agencies know where these attacks have been coming from. They know the direction. The people in the community can show them the routes,” Asama said.

He stressed that local residents are familiar with the attackers’ movements and routes. The only thing missing? A real effort to involve them.

“I don’t believe for a moment that security operatives are unaware of the attackers’ locations. If they engage the locals, they will get the information they need.”

Asama described the ongoing attacks as part of a disturbing pattern. Entire communities have been uprooted. He believes there’s more to it than random violence hinting at a calculated attempt to seize ancestral lands.

His comments add to growing public pressure on the federal government to act decisively and end the bloodshed in Plateau and beyond.

How long before the authorities stop watching and start acting?
