PHOTOS: Multiple Accident Rocks Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Causes Traffic Jam

An accident involving multiple vehicles occurred on Friday at the Kara Bridge inward OPIC, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The accident has caused a stiff traffic congestion stretching back to the Ikosi area.

This was disclosed in a post accompanied by photos shared on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority’s handle on Friday.

According to the post, the accident occured at 7:40 a.m., which has attracted the attention of emergency responders, including LASTMA personnel who swiftly arrived at the scene.

“We recorded an accident on Kara bridge inward Opic on Lagos Ibadan Express Way with multiple vehicles.

“LASTMA personnel and other Emergency responders have swung into action to rescue the victims and also clear the affected vehicles.”

The severity of the crash, although not immediately detailed, was enough to impact traffic flow significantly, causing delays and long queues for motorists heading inward Lagos.

“The incident has dragged traffic backwards Otedola bridge,” LASTMA, it added.

The traffic management authority appealed for calm and cooperation from road users navigating the affected axis.

“Patience is required from the road users,” it said.
