Troops Raid Terrorist Camps in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kill Insurgents, Seize Weapons

Nigerian troops have intensified Operation FANSAN YANMA Phase V, unleashing a coordinated assault across Sokoto and Zamfara States.

The military advanced deep into hostile territory, hitting known terror hideouts in Gidan Madi, Tsamiya Village, Tudun Ruwa, Alela, and the infamous Goboro Forest.

These locations, long regarded as strongholds, faced direct confrontation.

Security insiders confirmed that fighters encountered ambushes and pushback from the Lakurawa faction. Still, troops overran major locations like Areo, Damoria, and Tumuna Village.

“These camps served as logistical bases for attacks on civilians and security forces,” a senior military source disclosed.

Six terrorists were neutralised during the raid. Others fled, wounded. One soldier was injured and taken to the 8 Division Military Hospital in Sokoto. A vigilante aiding the mission died in action.

The operation yielded seized rifles, ammunition, two handheld radios, and several motorcycles the terrorists used for escape and communication.
