Security forces swept through Taraba State in a coordinated Show of Force, making their presence felt in a bold move to affirm their preparedness ahead of the Taraba International Investment Summit.
Led by the State Police Command and backed by other security outfits, the operation unfolded across key parts of the state. It wasn’t business as usual this was a deliberate show of strength meant to send a clear message.
According to the command, the exercise aimed to deter criminal elements, restore public confidence, and emphasize a united front in ensuring peace throughout the summit period.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel S. Bretet, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Umar Shehu Didango, described the effort as a strategic move to guarantee safety during the high-profile gathering.

“As we prepare to welcome investors, guests, and dignitaries, it is crucial that we provide a safe and peaceful atmosphere.”
“This Show of Force underscores our commitment to public safety and our determination to ensure the Summit proceeds without incident,” he added.
The Police Command urged the public to stay alert and report anything suspicious to the nearest security outpost, stressing that maintaining peace especially during events of global relevance relies heavily on the support of the people.
