Skales Denies Splitting from Wife Over Social Media Drama

Nigerian artist John Njenga-Njeng, fondly called Skales, has denied claims that he ended his marriage to Precious Hassanity because she mocked his career.

A viral post by X user @Verity_HQ had stirred the pot, alleging the singer said:

“I d!vorced my wife because of a comment she made on my post and I don’t rêgret it,” singer Skales reportedly said. “When my wife made the comment on my post, I got ãngry. People cannot be m0cking your husband’s music career, the music that is paying your bills and you join them to m0ck him.
“She should’ve defended me or, better still, stayed quiet. I wasn’t totally wr0ng for dîvorcing her because a woman who doesn’t support your hustle isn’t a good wife.”

Skales has now distanced himself from the quote, calling it entirely false. He expressed anger over the claim, describing the blogger’s actions as “evil and unfair.”

In his response, the singer wrote: “This is really evil of you that you would cook up such a story. This is not fair. I have never made such a statement and this is false. Please stop spreading lies.”

Skales and chef Precious Hassanity got married in September 2021. A year later, in November 2022, he teased an unreleased song on social media. The lyrics were fiery, with harsh words that sounded like a direct shot at his wife.

In the same period, he accused her of failing to help save his mother, Martina Aiyewa, who had passed on just weeks before.

He also made a post suggesting marital trouble:
“In all you do, make sure you don’t marry a heartless person. Pray for my mental health.”

The timeline of their relationship remains rocky, but Skales insists the latest quote making rounds is completely made up.
