Burna Boy is no stranger to speaking his mind, and he has done it again loud and clear. After announcing plans to stage a free concert in Burkina Faso, the Afrobeats giant faced a wave of online criticism. Some even claimed that the country’s president turned down his offer.
The backlash was swift, and so was Burna’s reply.
He took to Instagram Stories to set the record straight. The fabulous singer made it clear he wasn’t chasing validation or clout.
His words were firm: his drive comes from principle, not profit.

Burna didn’t hide his disappointment either. He called out the backlash as “surprisingly negative and offensive.”
Then came his unfiltered response: “I have nothing to gain from anybody. I don’t owe anyone anything, but that never stopped me from doing the great work I do. My integrity is unquestionable. Therefore burn in hell if you said anything negative,” Burna Boy wrote.
No sugarcoating, No backpedaling, Just Burna Boy being exactly who he is.
