Israel Closes Embassies Worldwide After Deadly Strikes on Iran

Israel has shut down all its embassies and diplomatic missions around the world as tensions with Iran spiral following a major military offensive.

The country’s Foreign Ministry made the announcement on Friday, June 13, citing security concerns linked to the ongoing military operation against Iran.

The closure means Israeli citizens travelling or living abroad will not be able to access embassy services for now.

Instead, the ministry is urging them to fill out an online form with their current location and personal situation. For those facing emergencies, direct contact with the ministry’s situation room has been advised.

In a strongly worded security notice, Israelis overseas were warned to avoid wearing or displaying anything that could identify them as Israeli.

They were also told not to post their travel plans or personal details on social media and to steer clear of large public events connected to Israel.

The embassy closures came hours after Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iran, targeting dozens of military sites, including sensitive nuclear facilities.

Iranian media reported that several high-ranking Iranian military officers were killed in the assault.

Among the dead are reportedly Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Hossein Salami, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, responded with a stern warning, vowing revenge. “Israel has prepared a bitter fate for itself,” he said.

The unfolding conflict has raised fears of a broader regional escalation, with both sides trading threats and bracing for possible retaliation.
