Prophet Adegboyega Ologbonyo has issued a public plea to Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, urging swift action to tackle the worsening state of infrastructure and electricity failure in parts of Ekiti State.
The cleric, who is the Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, Boanerges, highlighted that Ise-Orun and Emure communities have lived without electricity for eight months.
Local businesses are struggling. Residents are dealing with mounting frustration and hardship.
Ologbonyo said, “As someone who has lived and worked in these communities for over 26 years, I can testify to the ongoing challenges residents face.”
The crisis goes beyond electricity. According to him, pipe-borne water has never been available in the area for public use. Residents rely on other means to get water, often spending long hours and money to meet this basic need.
Roads are another major concern.
He pointed out that communities like Uso, Ijan, Agbado, and Ise-Ekiti, as well as Emure-Ilé to Ọwọ, lack good roads, limiting access to markets and services.
“Most of our people are farmers. Constructing motorable roads that connect farms to urban centres would substantially enhance local economic activity,” he said.

He also raised alarm about rising insecurity. Criminals now take advantage of the bad roads to operate freely, especially kidnappers.
The cleric warned that the state’s silence on these problems could scare away investors and stall development.
Still, he expressed faith in Governor Oyebanji’s leadership.
“I know His Excellency to be a responsive leader who prioritizes the welfare of citizens. It is based on this belief that I respectfully bring these issues to your attention.”
He called for urgent government intervention to restore power, repair roads, provide water, and improve security.
“These are not merely developmental aspirations, they are essential needs that will significantly improve the standard of living for our people,” Ologbonyo said.
