Three young women have come forward with disturbing allegations of physical assault by a man during a night out at a nightclub in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The alleged attack left one woman with a head injury, another with a broken tooth, and a third reportedly stripped and thrown down a staircase.
The incident reportedly occurred at Black Box nightclub and has sparked public outrage following the release of video testimonies by the victims on social media.
According to the women, they were celebrating a friend’s birthday and had reserved a table when they were approached by a man who accused them of recording him without his permission. The confrontation escalated violently.
“The only thing we did wrong was to go out as girls,” one of the women said in a video, showing a bloody wound on her head, which she claimed was caused by a bottle allegedly smashed on her during the altercation. “Is every girl in Nigeria a prostitute?”
Another woman described how the man, accompanied by security personnel, forcefully took over their reserved space and threatened her.
“He told me, ‘If they born you well, sit in the seat you paid for,’” she said.
She went on to describe how the man and his companions began breaking bottles, injuring her friends in the process. One sustained a serious head wound, while another lost a tooth. She herself was allegedly stripped and pushed down a staircase.
“They beat me like I was a thief, all because he came with MOPOL (Mobile Police) and bodyguards,” she added.
The third woman, who appeared in a video visibly missing a front tooth, appealed for justice and called on human rights organizations to take up their case.
“Young women can’t even go out safely anymore. These men need to be held accountable,” she said.

The women also claimed the man is a known patron of the club and has been accused of similar behavior in the past.
In response, a man identifying himself as the founder of Black Box nightclub, using the TikTok handle @datfairboy1, released a video condemning the assault and describing the situation as “pathetic.”
“No human being has the right to physically harm another, especially when there was no threat,” he stated.
“This is a personal message, not just a business response. I’ve visited the victims in the hospital and reported the matter to the authorities.”
On Friday, the Rivers State Police Command acknowledged the incident and confirmed that both the club manager and the alleged assailant had been summoned for questioning.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the command said, “The DPO in charge has expedited action by inviting the hotel manager and the alleged suspect for investigation.
“We also urge the victims to come forward to make official statements.”
As of the time of this report, the accused individual has not issued a public response.
