Akpabio’s Aide Drags Natasha to IGP Over Alleged Account Hacking, Defamation

Kenny Okolugbo, former Delta State Commissioner and Special Adviser on Communications/Strategy to the President of the Senate, has filed a petition to the Inspector General of Police, demanding a prompt investigation into what he described as a deliberate cyberattack and smear campaign aimed at damaging his reputation.

In his petition, Okolugbo alleged that his verified X (formerly Twitter) account was hacked and used to share false statements in his name.

He further claimed that three widely followed influencers Tunde Ednut (@mazitundeednut), Rufai Oseni (@ruffydfire), and Adeola Fayehun (@adeolafayehun) circulated the false content and added further damaging details.

According to him, these included fake claims of phone cloning, manipulated voice recordings, and fabricated meetings in London.

“These allegations are not only untrue but impossible based on verified evidence,” he wrote.

He described the influencers’ simultaneous use of similar language and timing in their posts as a clear sign of a coordinated attempt to mislead the public.

Okolugbo also stated that the online disinformation was strategically linked to accusations by Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan and accused the influencers of expanding on the hacked post with elements not originally present suggesting a planned effort to defame him.

In his formal plea, he urged the Nigeria Police Force to take the following steps:

Launch a full investigation into the hacking and impersonation of his verified X account, citing breaches of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

Identify and prosecute all persons involved in the defamation and forgery.

Secure and preserve all digital evidence from platforms and service providers to support forensic review.

He stressed the seriousness of the issue, both to him personally and to the public, calling for immediate police action.

To support his claims, Okolugbo submitted copies of the offensive posts and his travel records. He said these show that he had not been to London or outside Nigeria in 2025, and his last visit to London was on the 5th of November, 2024, with no meetings held during that trip.

As of the time this report was filed, the Nigeria Police Force had not issued any official comment on the petition.
