The Nigeria National Coalition Group (NNCG) has taken a bold step toward forming a new political force, applying to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of a new party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
The application letter, dated 19 June 2025 and received by INEC on 20 June, was signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, the Protem National Chairman of the group.
In the letter, Rickets said the move followed the coalition’s unanimous decision to establish a fresh political platform.
“We respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, ADA, as a political party,” the letter reads.
According to the application, the party’s slogan will be “Justice for All”, and its symbol prominently features corn (maize), reflecting its grassroots identity and focus on national development.
The coalition submitted a full set of documents to back its application, including ADA’s constitution, manifesto, party flag, logo, and minutes of foundational meetings.
“We have further attached our manifesto encompassing details of our party ideology, and our constitution providing the legal framework that defines our identity, structures and organization, regulates our affairs and guides our actions in alignment with Section 40 and 222 of the Constitution, Section 75 of the Electoral Act (2022) and global democratic principles and objectives,” Rickets stated.

The group had previously explored aligning with established parties like the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP). However, persistent internal crises within those parties raised red flags.
Several members voiced concerns about joining existing platforms where old power structures might limit inclusion.
That led the coalition to form a committee, chaired by former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, to evaluate the best path forward.
Last week, the committee submitted its final report, recommending the creation of an entirely new party, where every founding member would have an equal stake from the start.
The NNCG is made up of heavyweight political figures including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Amaechi, and Dr Umar Ardo of the League of Northern Democrats.
With the ADA now awaiting approval from INEC, the group is positioning itself as a new political force for Nigerians disillusioned with current parties.
If approved, ADA could dramatically reshape the political landscape ahead of future elections.
