PHOTOS: Police Rescue 4-Year-Old Kidnap Victim, Arrest Seven Suspects, Recover Arms in Nationwide Crackdown

The Nigeria Police Force has announced a series of significant breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance internal security across the country.

The Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement on Saturday, detailed multiple successful operations carried out by the state commands.

He highlighted the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and inter-agency collaboration.

In Katsina State, police operatives cracked a disturbing case involving a staged kidnapping.

The incident began on February 20, 2025, when Alhaji Badamasi Bala of Madaci Yan Nono Quarters reported the abduction of his two daughters a 14-year-old and her 4-year-old sister.

The statement added that after four months, the 14-year-old resurfaced, adfing that she confessed to orchestrating the abduction alongside three co-conspirators aged 25, 19, and 16.

The police noted that all four have been arrested, and the 4-year-old girl has been rescued unharmed.

In another operation, police in Nasarawa State acted on credible intelligence to intercept a suspected arms trafficker along the Giza–Kadarko Road in Keana LGA. The suspect, riding an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle, abandoned the vehicle and fled into a nearby bush upon sighting the police.

A search of the abandoned motorcycle uncovered an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 45 rounds of 7.62x39mm live ammunition.

Efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspect are ongoing.

On June 13, a joint security team raided Kankare and Zurkuda villages in Birnin Kudu LGA, Jigawa State, arresting seven suspected fraudsters linked to a criminal financial network.

Items recovered during the operation included $46,100, four POS machines, thirteen Android smartphones, twenty-nine keypad phones, six power banks, two vehicle plate numbers, and barious documents suspected to be used for electronic fraud.

All suspects are currently in custody and assisting police with investigations.

“These coordinated operations reflect the Nigeria Police Force’s resolve to combat all forms of criminality through proactive measures, intelligence gathering, and community partnership,” Adejobi said.

He added that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, remains committed to enhancing national security and urges citizens to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and cooperative with law enforcement authorities.
