A group of Muslim youths in Katsina State staged a protest over the weekend in a show of solidarity with Iran amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, which many believe is backed by the United States.

This was disclosed in a video shared by an X user, identified as Chuks, #ChuksEricE on Sunday, with the caption, “Northern youths in Katsina State staged a protest in support of Iran🧎🫵.”

The video captured hundreds of Muslim supporters marching through the streets carrying banners and chanting slogans in support of the Iranian government.

The banner displayed the image of Iran’s Supreme Leader, along with a map of the country.

In stark contrast, defaced images of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were also featured both visibly crossed out to symbolize the group’s disapproval.

The protest was reportedly organised in response to rising tensions in the Middle East and growing support among some groups in Northern Nigeria for Iran’s stance in the ongoing crisis.

Footage reviewed by First News correspondent showed the demonstrators moving through major streets in Katsina, waving flags and voicing opposition to Western influence in the region.

The unusual protest has sparked mixed reactions online, with social media users flooding the comment section of the post to share their views on the youth-led display of international political alignment.
