The academic community in Ondo State has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Arobo Precious, a 28-year-old final-year student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), who allegedly took his own life in what appears to be a case linked to emotional distress.
Precious, an HND II student, was reportedly found dead around 9:00 p.m. in a bush close to his residence in Owo town.
His lifeless body was discovered with a rope around his neck, suggesting he died by suicide.
Prior to his death, Precious posted a troubling video on social media, hinting at deep emotional struggles and heartbreak, allegedly tied to a failed romantic relationship. In the video, he mentioned a woman identified as Eniayewu Opeyemi, writing:
“Eniayewu Opeyemi was the one who got me into this. People say there is still life out there, but to me, there is nothing anymore.”
A family source confirmed that he has already been buried, describing him as “a good person” and stating that his parents are devastated by the loss.
