The Rivers State Police Command has declared two top officials of the Ahoada East Local Government Area wanted in connection with a violent assault on the area’s council administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.
Declared wanted are Hector Ekakita, the Chief Security Officer of Ahoada East LGA, and Aloni Olodi, the Chief of Staff to the council.
Both men are accused of leading a mob-style attack on Iheanachor at the council secretariat on June 20, 2025.
This was made known in an official statement released Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, who revealed that the officials had defied earlier police invitations for questioning and have now been declared fugitives by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu.
“The Rivers State Police Command has declared the following individuals wanted for criminal conspiracy, stealing, assault occasioning harm, and attempted murder,” the statement began. “This follows the brazen and coordinated attack on Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor at the Ahoada-East council secretariat, during which he was assaulted, robbed, and compelled under duress to sign a resignation letter.”
According to police findings, Ekakita and Olodi allegedly led a group of about 30 youths who stormed Iheanachor’s office, beat him up, looted important documents and gadgets, and forced him to sign the said resignation letter at gunpoint.

Police say the administrator, who was appointed by the Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), is still receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the attack.
Iringe-Koko added that the two officials “blatantly ignored” formal invitations to appear for questioning, prompting their official declaration as wanted persons.
“The Commissioner of Police has advised the suspects to turn themselves in at the Police State Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt without delay,” the statement read. “Anyone found harbouring or aiding the suspects will be treated as an accomplice and face the full force of the law.”
The Police Command also urged members of the public with credible information on the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest police station or use dedicated emergency lines.
The development adds another layer of tension to the political crisis currently gripping local government administration in Rivers State, following a wave of leadership disputes and violent clashes.
